Boscastle Cow

cowPhotography by Lydia Kent

I took this photograph in the spring of 2011 whilst walking across the cliffs of Boscastle, North Cornwall. I have always had a great connection with animals and this was a very easy photo to take. I crouched down in front of the cow whilst it was chewing on some grass, and timed the shot so that it’s mouth would be open for the photograph – making it look like it was smiling. The grey sky helps bring out the bright green, lush grass, and the black and white pattern on the cow itself.
I think this photo is feel good picture, because of the smile the cow appears to have, and how close it would let me get to it to take the photograph, without running away.
